It Would Have Been Easier Had I Run

Here's a big part of what I did today ...
There is nothing about that picture that indicates restful.
Here's the unexpected part of the garden sponsored by the activity Running:
That's squash in my garden! I hate squash. Except for when
Aaron grills it, then it's super-yum. I know this is an everyday
thing for millions, but it's brand new in our house, and I was
inspired to make it a regular staple after reading a thousand
times in a thousand running-themed articles about how good
it is for you. Fine! I get it, I get it!!!
It's okay that I didn't rest. Daphne took care of that for me:
In fact, she took care of resting for me, the whole fam, all of
our neighbors and my distant relatives. She's an expert rester.
And, as an added bonus to a very long day, we rounded it out with the last of the traditional Mother's Day strawberry shortcake:
A quarter pound of strawberries? Yes, please.
And, tomorrow: We run. We beat the forecasted rain, and we run. Elly and I will see you after, and I'm betting I won't be as tired from that as I was from gardening. Just. Sayin'.
