Wednesdays are the longest weekday short runs (get all that?), and today marked the bump-up in mileage on the training calendar. So, Elly and I headed out to a whole new route this morning, she with her eager prance and I with the hopes that a four-miler wouldn't make her heave when we got home.
The end of the story is that Elly was perfectly fine, and we both had great runs! No heaving before, during or after for anyone! In between the start and the finish, though, we did things like notice this patch of flowers that has probably been waiting oh-so-patiently to finally bloom:
|
"No need to be impressed with those, mommy, I've been pretty
for you all along. See? Here I am again!" |
And, we were careful on the treacherous stretch of sidewalk:
|
Deceptively slippery. Just sayin'. |
And, when not scouting the pavement for pennies (I found one, by the way!), I looked up in time to see this little guy suspended from a tree:
|
Do you now have the "Inchworm" song
going through your head, too? You're
welcome very much. |
Yes, the run was good. The weather was nice enough not to complain but warm enough to get a good sweat on early in the run, and cranking up the miles was very satisfying!
Most notably today, though, is a congratulations to Elly for crossing her
200 running miles mark for this year!!
Hooray, Elly!!!

"Aw, shucks, it was nothin'." |
It's another running day tomorrow! Gear up for whatever you're doing, and I'll see you when we're both finished!
