Wicked Wind Out Of the West

Today’s Numbers: Nancy's Total Movement Mileage: 85.6 (running: 84.9; walking: .7; biking: 0) Elly's miles: 54.1  Money Found For Food Bank: $36.25

It was really cold out there this morning!! It was this kind of cold!!
Say what you want about cats, but these two are inside and on
a soft bed ...
It was also really windy out. This kind of windy:
That's what Elly looks like when she gets nailed with a big wind gust. There were consistent reports of gusts exceeding 30 mph. Having run into them (not to mention having listened to my windows rattle all night and all day long), I totally believe it! And, they weren't just strong. It wasn't that they bit you. It wasn't that they stung. It's that they totally bitch-slapped you in such a way that you questioned your own common sense just by being outside.

I'm just saying.

But, we made it, Elly and I, during a very fast, very strong three miles to kick off the training schedule for April's Half Marathon! With weather like this morning, where it also started snowing toward the end of the run (awesome and whee!!!), it's weird to think there is weather down the road suitable for such an event! But, as it is every year, here we are on the roller coaster weeks ready to get through them and into Spring!

It was fun to gear up this schedule with my pup:
As the schedule is right now, we rest tomorrow and get back to it Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! So, wind or cold or warm or whatever, here's the countdown to the big show in April! Here ... we ... go ...!!!
