One Person's Seemingly Useless Coins Is Totally My Treasue

Today’s Numbers: Nancy's Total Movement Mileage: 899.7 (running: 717.2; walking: 37.7; biking: 144.8) Money Found For Food Bank: $89.93

2,015 in 2015 Change Hounds progress: Nancy: 899.7 Aaron: 586.3 (b: 520.6; w: 65.7)  Elly: 246.2 Total: 1732.2

I'm pretty sure nothing is ever going to make me understand this:
I actually thought quite a bit about that very topic while picking up all of those little, bronze Abes. That is, the topic of "What on Earth would make me not only dump my pennies on the ground but also leave them there?" It's the leaving them part that gets me. But, not interested in being completely judgy-McJudge about why someone would do such a thing, I got to thinking about what would compel me to walk away from it.

I do understand being in a hurry. Maybe this person was late for class or for an appointment or work. I might possibly leave them there if I were late for something forget. I most definitely would leave them there if there were a medical emergency; of that, I am completely certain. But, that might be the only reason.

But, let's face it: If a pile of pennies has hit the ground right next to parked cars, someone purposely dumped them. I'd bet money on it.

Well, that was another 37 cents added to today's $1.15 total. At least it's now going to good use!

And, the run? The run was great. Elly again joined me but only because she was all about dancing around and showing me she was ready.to.go. this morning! I honestly didn't anticipate such eagerness, and I figured she could use a rest after having run yesterday. But, I took her cues and brought her along. That was one happy girl.

It was 40 degrees, I had my dog and my gloves to keep my fingers warm, and it was a perfect November morning.

The only issue I have with today's run is realizing well after it that had I gone just three tenths of a mile short of rolling my mileage to 900. It's not that 900 means something in particular, it's that I'm that close to a whole number and didn't pay enough attention to make sure I got it. I like cleaning up the edges when I can!

Speaking of cleaning up, I have some loose ends for work that need my attention, and I'm spending the morning doing just that with my running time! So, it's a couple of days off for me before wrapping up the week with Friday and Saturday runs! Aaron is super-stoked not at all to have learned earlier this evening that I plan for him to join me Saturday morning ... when it's supposed to be 32 overnight! He hates the cold, but he loves me, so he'll go. Even if he's a baby about it, it'll be fun!

Lots to do between now and then! I'm sure I'm not alone in that department! Working tomorrow will 'definitely call for a brain break, so I'll be checking in ...!
