Pucker Up!

It's Total Rest Day! No running and no resistance training! That's a one-two punch I am enjoying! Check out what else I'm enjoying lately from the kitchen! I saw the recipe on the Hungry Girl t.v. show and almost started salivating. Friends ... welcome to margaritaville:
All you use is some lime juice, a packet of
sugar-free lemonade drink mix, your favorite
diet lemon-lime soda and, of course, tequila
(or not if you want to make it alcohol-free).
We've never owned a bottle of hard alcohol,
so this purchase was a first. Are you, too,
intrigued that it went to live with the oatmeal?
We didn't even have a way to measure the tequila, so Aaron
got a shot glass, too. And, in his wisdom, found some margarita
salt. The love is in the details, is it not?
Okay, so here's the official recipe, but I have to tell you we already tweaked it big time because the recipe wound up being way too tart by the end of its consumption. I like things that cause such a pucker, but not to the degree that the recipe did. (I mean to say YOWZA!) So, we kept the measure of soda as instructed, but we cut everything else in half. That's particularly easy when you're making two ... double the soda, keep everything else as listed. Easy and SUPER YUMMY!
Poured over crushed ice in a salted Peanuts glass (we've never had hard liquor around, do you really think we'd have proper glasses?), and this is a HUGE winner!! Well, it's a winner if you like margaritas, and I DO! The way we make it with all ingredients but the soda in half, this drink comes in under 100 calories!! So, low in calories and no sugar (big bonus especially compared to the real deal!): This recipe rocks!! Thanks, Hungry Girl! I'm glad you're not just hungry but that you get thirsty sometimes, too!!

See you after the morning regime!
